The Anne Ford Scholarship is granted to two graduating high school students with documented learning disabilities (LD). This scholarship program is now available as the Anne Ford Scholarship or the Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship. Each of these intends to help students who are determined enough to pursue their goals in life despite their financial and physical incapability.

Requirements

  • The student possess valid documents, indicating his/her struggle with LD
  • He/she should be clearly demonstrating the significance of self-advocacy
  • He/she should had firmly decided to complete a 4-year college degree and had started to set realistic career goals
  • He/she should be actively involved in several school and community activities
  • He/she should possess consistent academic achievements and excel as a spokesperson or role model for other students struggling with LD
  • He/she should contribute to the community in ways to improve opportunities for persons with LD
  • He/she should be high school senior supposed to attend a 4-year bachelor’s degree program by the fall of 2014 with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a four-point scale (or equivalent)
  • He/should be a US citizen, acknowledged to have financial need
  • He/she should prepare or submit a copy of the necessary documents on or before the corresponding submission deadline (see the official website for more details)
  • He/she compose a written scholarship personal statement to be submitted along with the accomplished application form; this Scholarship Essay will help the applicant get chosen for the scholarship grant.
